Neal M. Farber, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Farber has over 20 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in areas of research and product development. As President and CEO of Collgard Biopharmaceuticals, he raised $7 MM in a series A financing; completed a $40 MM corporate deal with a medical device company; initiated Phase I and II clinical trials in autoimmune and cancer programs; and signed development agreements with the NCI, EORTC, Mayo Clinic and the Walter Reed Army Hospital. Previously, Dr. Farber held senior corporate development positions at Biogen, Cubist Pharmaceuticals, and T Cell Sciences. Dr. Farber was a Helen Hay Whitney Research Fellow at Harvard University and received his PhD (Hammett Award) from Columbia University.

 

 
 

Elkan Gamzu, Ph.D., Chairman of the Board, Acting Head of Clinical Trials
Dr. Gamzu has worked in the biopharmaceutical industry since 1971, in discovery with Hoffmann La Roche, in clinical management and drug development with Warner-Lambert, where as VP, Drug Development had responsibility for the development of Cognex, the first drug approved for Alzheimer's, and Neurontin. Dr. Gamzu served as CEO of Cambridge Neuroscience and as Interim VP of Development Project Leadership for Millennium Pharmaceuticals. He is a co-founder of BioPharmAnalysis, LLC, a company offering due diligence services and currently serves as Principal of enERGetics, LLC, a biopharmaceutical consulting company. Dr. Gamzu currently serves the boards of directors of Pharmos Corp. (NASDAQ: PARS) and Neurotech S.A.

 

 
 

Daniel Katzman M.Sc., President and Founder
Mr. Katzman has over ten years of experience in the life sciences industry. Before founding NeuroHealing he served as VP of Business Development at Oridion Medical Ltd, a publicly traded company (Zurich SWX: ORIDN). By leading one of Oridion’s two divisions, Mr. Katzman supervised clinical trials, regulatory approval, intellectual property and marketing. Additionally, he has been granted four US patents, has led a pivotal, multi-center Phase III study and has obtained FDA approval for a drug-device combination product which included an NDA and a 510(k). Mr. Katzman received his graduate degree in Biochemistry from Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina.

 

 
 

David Gwynne,Ph.D., Vice President, Business Development
Dr. Gwynne has worked in the biopharmaceutical industry since 1984 holding positions in both R&D and in business development. Dr. Gwynne has led R&D teams at Allelix Biopharmaceuticals and at Cambridge NeuroScience. In addition, Dr. Gwynne has held senior business development positions at Cambridge NeuroScience, CeNeS, Cita Pharmaceuticals and, most recently, as VP Business Development at Indevus Pharmaceuticals, where he completed four corporate licensing deals. Dr. Gwynne has experience in several therapeutic areas with emphasis on CNS disorders and urology. Dr. Gwynne received his Ph.D. from McGill University.

 

 
 

Eyal S. Ron, Ph.D., Senior Director of Formulation Development
Dr. Ron is an expert in the development of drugs, biomaterials and drug delivery systems. He has contributed to the formation of Cerebrotec, eNOS Pharmaceuticals, Focal, GelMed/Gel Sciences and InfiMed. Under his leadership numerous products have been developed and approved, including oral sustained release products (PefusiaTM); implantable, biodegradable, sustained release devices (Gliadel®, InFuse®, ProLease®); biodegradable sealants (FocalSeal®); and transmucosal delivery systems. Dr. Ron is the author of over 100 papers, book chapters and abstracts, and the inventor of over 30 patents mostly in the area of new indications for drugs, drug formulations, drug delivery, and biomaterials. Dr. Ron holds a PhD in chemistry from Brandeis and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at MIT under Robert Langer.

Ross Baldessarini, M.D.
Dr. Baldessarini is Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at Harvard Medical School, Director of the Lab for Psychiatric Research and the Psychopharmacology Program at McLean Hospital (MGH). He is widely known for research and teaching in psychopharmacology and general psychiatry. He is the author of nearly 1,600 scientific publications and serves on the editorial boards of several neuropharmacology journals.


 
 

Teo Forsht Dagi, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.S., F.C.C.M.
Dr. Dagi was trained in neurosurgery and neurophysiology at MGH and Harvard Medical School. He has served as managing partner of Cordova Technology Partners. Dr. Dagi serves as a director of privately and publicly held corporations in biotech, medical devices, healthcare and information technology. He is the co-author of the book Penetrating Head Injuries.


 
 

Daniel Drubach, M.D.
Dr. Drubach is a Senior Associate Consultant in the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where he leads the Coma Program. Dr. Drubach is a US board certified Neurologist and Psychologist and authored the book The Brain Explained.


 
 

Stan Goldstein
Mr. Goldstein is the Chairman and Founder of Sleep HealthCenters; former President and CEO, Premier Rehabilitation Centers, a privately owned provider of services and support to persons with acquired brain injury and related neurological disorders.


 
 

Esteban Fridman, M.D., Founder
Dr. Fridman is a Board Certified Neurologist in Argentina and former Fellow of the US National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke (NINDS), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, MD. Dr. Fridman currently serves as an extra-mural investigator for the NINDS. Dr. Fridman also leads the Neurorehabilitation section at the FLENI Hospital, a leading Argentinean institution specializing in neurosciences.

 

 
 

Pamela Hay, J.D.
Pamela Hay is a business development and operations consultant for early stage biotechnology companies. She was Chief Commercial Officer at Domantis Ltd from 2001 until its acquisition by GSK in 2007, where she oversaw commercial development, including completion of major alliances with Abbott and BMS and additional deal negotiations that concluded the company’s purchase. Previously, she was SVP, Corporate Development at Dyax Corp where she was responsible for the negotiation of more than 60 licenses and collaborations as well as the legal and IP functions. She has also held senior legal positions at T Cell Sciences and Biogen. Pamela has a JD from the University of Wisconsin and a BA in Biology from Cornell University.

 

 
 

Douglas Katz, M.D.
Dr. Katz is Medical Director of the Brain Injury Programs at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital and Associate Professor of Neurology at Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Katz is a co-author of "Brain Injury Medicine", the authoritative texbook for this field of medicine.


 
 

Daniel Tarsy, M.D.
Dr. Tarsy serves as the Vice Chairman, Department of Neurology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. He has extensive experience in phase II and III clinical trials in Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders.


 
 

Ross Zafonte, D.O.
Dr. Zafonte is the Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chair of the Dept. of PMR at Harvard Medical School Before, Dr. Zafonte served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. In addition to his leadership roles at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Zafonte maintained a clinical practice in which he cared for patients with a wide variety of disabilities, including traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, compressive neuropathies, spasticity, and post concussive musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Zafonte is a pioneer in proposing the use of dopaminergic stimulants for neurological low-level functioning patients. Dr. Zafonte is a co-author of "Brain Injury Medicine", the authoritative texbook for this field of medicine.


 
 

George Zitnay, Ph.D.
Dr. Zitnay is Chairman of the National Brain Injury Research Treatment and Training Foundation; Director of Virginia NeuroCare, Inc; Director of the John Jane Brain Injury Center in Charlottesville, Virginia; and Past President and CEO of the Brain Injury Association from 1991 to 1998.
